On the trail!
Welcome to my weekly update!
Swimming at Starcross
This week we were able to offer swimming sessions to preschool children and parents. The swim teachers were so impressed that we will try to fit in further sessions later in the swim calendar.
Preschool Sports Day
On Tuesday this week we held our Preschool Sports Day on our playground. The children took part in several different races, and they were well supported by some of our Year 6 children. The Preschool staff had organised the event superbly and the parents, grandparents and friends all had a wonderful afternoon.
Primary School Sports Day
Thank you all so much for the fantastic feedback you have given about our Sports Day this year. It was my favourite day yet at Starcross Primary School.
Here are some of the comments we have received:
- Was lovely to see everyone enjoy a picnic/lunch together.
- Lovely to see all the families having a good time and the kids running around
- It really did make for a happy community feel, one of the most memorable days yet!
- 100% it was lovely the kids really enjoyed it would love to do the picnic thing on a regular basis like the last day of school terms
- Lovely to all have lunch with friends and talk about the day
- First time I have been to the school and felt a sense of wider school community
- keep doing what you are doing the school is amazing, well done to all that set up, organised and were a part off the whole thing but mainly the children taking part in such beautiful weather
- Thank you for organizing
- A lovely day. Fantastic to see the children having fun, cheering, laughing and so therapeutic for them all
Thank you also for your suggestions and we will look to implement them next year.
Thanks must go to Oliver and Hugo’s Grandad for sending us a fantastic video that he took. This is where the gorgeous photos came from that are on Facebook.
Football Success!
A year 4 football team played against Teignmouth Primary School last night at home. The score was 4:2 to Starcross. Well done to all those who played.
Starcross Has Got Talent!
We were all treated to a fantastically entertaining afternoon. Last year’s winner Tommy Warburton warmed up the crowd and then took his place on the Judging Panel alongside Judgemental Jarratt and Glamorous Godbeer. The contestants were very brave and performed beautifully. Thanks must go to Miss Patchett for organising it again for us this year.
